Methods that make up the English to Grow programme

The English to Grow programme is based on proven methods that have been successfully used by tens of thousands of children in Poland and abroad. With years of experience and a team of methodologists who are also active teachers, Edu Bears delivers lessons that are modern, appealing, and highly effective.

1st grade: Teddy Eddie Superhero

Teddy Eddie Superhero is tailored to meet the needs of first-grade children. Our superhero teddy shows students that they can achieve anything linguistically with his support! Children will learn to speak in full sentences, master a wide range of vocabulary, and begin using these words and phrases in spontaneous situations. They will also start to read using the global reading method—all in a fun and motivating atmosphere.

Grades 2-4: Savvy Ed

The core principle of the Savvy Ed method is the “snowball effect”—a gradual buildup of content, supported by regular revision. This approach facilitates memorisation and consolidation of the language material. Savvy Ed classes are designed to foster all-round linguistic development and encourage intrinsic motivation through well-crafted activities.

Savvy Ed 1
The main focus is on communication and building competence in reading. Through fun, interactive language games and letters from Savvy Ed, children expand their knowledge of the world. The extensive and diverse material at this level aligns with the Cambridge English: Pre-A1 Starters exam.

Savvy Ed 2
At this level, learning builds on previously acquired material, with a focus on enhancing communication and improving writing skills in a foreign language. Students become more independent in their handling of communication activities, and the structured evaluation system nurtures their motivation. The educational content is aligned with the Cambridge English: A1 Movers exam.

Savvy Ed 3
Savvy Ed 3 integrates all four language skills—speaking, listening, reading, and writing—at the same time emphasising grammatical accuracy. Students become fluent in English across various communicative contexts and begin to apply grammatical concepts consciously. The material at this level corresponds to the Cambridge English: A2 Flyers exam.

Grades 5-7: Edward’s League

Over a period of three years, the Edward’s League method develops students who are well-rounded and equipped with a comprehensive skill set. The programme is structured to enhance speaking, listening, reading comprehension and writing, ensuring steady development in all key language areas.

Edward’s League 1
(A2/A2+ level)
At this level, students work on deepening all the language skills while developing a sense of purpose in their learning. With the support of a committed teacher and a pleasant classroom atmosphere, they gain satisfaction from their progress and steadily move towards greater proficiency in English.

Edward’s League 2
(A2+/B1 level)
Students become more engaged with complex and diverse language material. As they integrate elements of authentic language into their learning, their ability to communicate fluently and accurately grows. The clear learning objectives and carefully selected content further fuel their motivation. Collaborative work enhances student involvement and encourages greater independence.

Edward’s League 3
(B1/B1+ level)
At this stage, students have a broad vocabulary and a solid grasp of advanced grammar. They are prepared to take international exams. With consistent feedback, they continue to refine their skills, focusing on linguistic accuracy and effective communication. Students also begin setting their own educational goals, becoming fully competent users of English.

8th grade
For this level, we recommend using an eighth-grade revision book to prepare students for tasks in the E8 format. In the near future, we will also provide Edu Bears materials specifically designed for 8th grade learners 🙂
